In the course of numerous infrastructure projects
for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia), a new 48 km long
transport link between the city of Adler on the Black Sea and Krasnaya
Polyana in the Caucasus was built. This transport connection consists of
a highway & a railway line.
In the area of PK-325, at 32.5 km railroad mark, both highway and railway
come close together resulting in a geotechnical interaction with each other,
so that in this location the construction of a vertical retaining wall
was necessary.
Bewehrte Erde (Reinforced Earth in Germany) was commissioned for the
final execution design and delivery of around 5,320 m² of retaining
walls with TerraClass® panels in combination with HA GeoStrap® synthetic
strips.
