The Reinforced Earth Company (RECo) has
recently supplied over 1,600m² of retaining walls for the Gold Coast Rapid
Transit Project. The RE walls have been designed for both the 15 kPa rail
loading as well as the higher 25 kPa temporary construction loading.
The wall pictured rises to 8m high to connect to the Smith Street Viaduct and is reinforced with high adherence galvanized steel strip.
Since, several walls are located adjacent to the Nerang River and Jariparilla Cove and may be affected by the salt water table and brackish water during flood events, RECo supplied the GeoMega® system, corrosion proof.
